What’s in Season: Antioxidant-Rich Foods for Healthy Summer Skin!

Antioxidants are critical to graceful skin aging! They are our natural defense against oxidative stress; without antioxidants, our cells would quickly die! They even help neutralize toxic free radicals before damage occurs.

Antioxidants fall into three classes:

  1. Botanical – produced by plants
  2. Biological – required by the human body for metabolism, but in some cases cannot be produced by the human body
  3. Bioengineered – a brand new category of high-tech, super-efficient antioxidants that target skin aging at the cellular source – the mitochondria

There are two ways to attain antioxidants: by incorporating them into your diet or applying skincare products that contain antioxidants.

PRIORI® offers the “best in class” antioxidant protection in every category – CoffeeBerry® (botanical), Advanced AHA (biological) and Idebenone Complex (bioengineered) – in its skincare products and Dietary Supplements.

This summer, be sure to take a trip to your local farmers’ market or favorite grocery store and load up on antioxidant-rich summer fruits and vegetables for healthy, glowing skin. The more colorful the fruits or vegetable, the higher content of antioxidants they contain. When traveling may cause maintaining a healthy diet to be a bit more challenging, add PRIORI® Dietary Supplements to your daily diet to supplement your antioxidant intake.

PRIORI®’s National Educator, Sarah Marquez, shares one of her favorite recipes below for an antioxidant-packed, super-healthy summer salad from www.sugarfreemom.com. Anti-aging never tasted so good – enjoy antioxidant-rich summer fruits and vegetables!
